The Challenge

UA Local 32 needed to make the case for a career path most people had never seriously considered. The Seattle Area Pipe Trades apprenticeship program offered real financial stability, personal transformation, and professional identity — but those weren't abstract ideas. They needed to live in specific people, specific stories, told three distinct ways. The ask: a series of films for their website that could turn a visitor into an applicant.

The Approach

Image Tale opened the same way it always does — sitting with the SAPT team before a single camera was unpacked. The MUSE process surfaced the keywords that defined who these students were, what the program meant to them, and why it changed things. From there, the work was translation: mapping those keywords onto three separate themes and finding the right students to carry each one. Two days on site at the Seattle facility produced all the raw material — interviews, lab footage, students working with real industry tools. Three films, three angles on the same transformation.

The Result

The Financial Success, Personal Success, and Professional Success films have lived on the Seattle Area Pipe Trades website ever since — still running as primary recruitment materials nearly a decade after production wrapped. No updated versions. No replacements. The work held.
